12th European Championships WIKF
7, 8 october 2006
KUMITE, KATA & TANTO DORI

13-6-2006

Dear Instructor, Athlete, or Country Representative,

On behalf of the WIKF Netherlands Board of Directors, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 2006 Wado International Karatedo Federation’s European Championships to be held in Schiedam, Netherlands October 7 and 8, 2006!

Please note; not the whole schedule is in the letter, but later this year, everything will be on the official website: WIKF Nederland.

The European Championships is not just a tournament, but an event. We are planning an amazing schedule with two days of seminars, a day of meetings and information sharing and two full days of competition, ending with a farewell party. The seminars, Thursday October 5 and Friday October 6, will be European class, taught by the most respected and senior instructors in the world, with demonstrations from extremely talented practitioners. We will be holding the 2006 European Congress on Friday October 6, bringing all the European WIKF countries together to discuss the strong future and success of the WIKF. Each country is asked to provide two representatives to the European Congress.

We want to encourage as much participation as possible for this event and are therefore not restricting the number of participants per country. Under Tatsuo Suzuki’s leadership, the WIKF has grown significantly and we expect this to be a large event. To help with the organization of this event, registration will begin immediately and run through August 1, 2006. Late registration will be August 1 to September 1 and to encourage early registration a 25 euro late fee will be charged during this time. No registrations will be accepted after September 1, 2006 without justification and approval from the tournament host.

The Event Headquarters is in the 4 stars Novotel hotel in one of the oldest towns of Holland. I encourage you to make your arrangements to stay at this very good hotel. The meetings and registration will take place at this location. We have worked out a great discount price that includes breakfast and dinner during your stay. The Novotel hotel is convenient for travel into Rotterdam.
For prices and other hotel information please check our section about hotel information.

The European Championships is a time for all WIKF students to come together, assemble, build friendships, train and of course, compete. Holland has a lot to see and offer and we look forward to hosting you!

Sincerely,

Joop Weeland
Tournament Director
WIKF Holland
